Bermuda grass belongs to Cynodon family. Hybrid Bermuda grass require good amount of effort, time and money to establish. Normal Bermuda grass, on the other hand is easy to grow. Following is the step by step process for planting Bermuda grass.

First step is to prepare the lawn. Remove any traces of weed etc by tilling the land a few inches. To be on safer side spread non selective herbicide. This will kill all weeds. Now leave it like this for at least two weeks, so that soil can gain its basic balance. Ensure that all weeds and earlier grass is completely removed, so that later problem of weeding can be considerably reduced.

Second step - Level the lawn and add PH neutralizing fertilizers. This will ensure that grass grows really healthy and green. PH should be somewhere between 6-7.

Third step - Plant seeded Bermuda grass, this is more pocket friendly. Sod or sprigs can plant hybrid Bermuda grass. Remember to spread the seeds uniformly. Spread the seeds in right angle fashion or criss cross manner. Plant the seeds gently, not too much inside the soil.

Fourth step - Moist the soil sufficiently. Keep fertilizing regularly. Check the temperature. Control the weeds. And you have a beautiful, green lawn; envy of every neighbor.
